The Illinois Office of Comptroller is committed to ensuring continuous support for our State Accounting systems users. This includes Statewide Accounting Management System (SAMS), WH01, Data Warehouse, Payroll, Retirement, Electronic Commerce, and many others.

These systems are supported by our State Accounting System Administration (SASA) team, comprised of business analysts, SME’s, and a trainer. Whether you need technical assistance, guidance on business processes, or help locating training resources, our team is here to support you every step of the way.

Submitting a Support Request

To help us resolve your issue as quickly as possible, please provide detailed information when submitting your request.

Include the following whenever possible:

  • A clear description of the issue or question
  • The steps you completed before the issue occurred
  • Any error messages received
  • Screenshots or supporting documentation (if available)
  • The business impact or urgency of the issue

Providing complete information allows our team to quickly review, prioritize, and route your request to the appropriate support team.

SASA Support Hours: 8 am – 5pm Monday-Friday

Need Assistance?

The SASA Support Center is your central point of contact for all systems support.

Please submit all State Accounting systems related questions and issues through the SASA Support Request Form. Your request will be reviewed and appropriately routed for optimal resolution.

The SASA team can assist with:

  • System navigation and general "how-to" questions
  • Problems, issues, or concerns
  • Transaction processing assistance
  • Error messages and unexpected system behavior
  • Business process guidance
  • Training and learning resources
  • Questions about reports, workflows, and approvals

Learning Management System (LMS)

Continue building your knowledge with the IOC Learning Management System.

The LMS provides on-demand training and reference materials to help you confidently use State Accounting systems.

**Please note that in order to access the online trainings you must be an employee with the State of Illinois. If you are not a registered employee, you will be unable to login and view the trainings.

July 6, 2026 IOC went live with our new SAMS system. Here you can find information and links provided during that transition, as well as resources and forms related to the SAMS Modernization project. All training material is located in the Comptroller's Learning Management System (LMS), see above.

To view SAMS training courses and access other training materials login to the Comptroller’s Learning Management System (LMS).

Resources

The Comptroller’s Office uses a Learning Management System that houses all training documents, videos, and course material. If you have a log in, please click the link provided under the Training Portal section to go to the LMS system.

If you are not a registered user and do not have a log in, please contact SAMSMod@illinoiscomptroller.gov and request access. Please note you must be an employee with the State of Illinois or be a SAMS user in order to gain access to the trainings.

SAMS Courses

SAMS Getting Started Course

This course introduces the basic components of the Modernized SAMS application, including a review of Business Roles, logging in, the Home Page Navigation, QuickLinks, Widgets, User Profile, the Primary Navigation Menu, and the Home Page Footer.

Note* - This course is a required pre-reqisite for all SAMS Courses and users.
