The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) is the official annual report which details the financial position of the State and results of operations during the fiscal year. The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report is prepared in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), which are a common set of accounting principles, standards and procedures that entities use to compile their financial statements. This report was previously known as the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).

Financial data is available in bulk for those who would like to view and query the financial information of local governments in Illinois. All financial data provided is self-reported by the local governments, according to state law. An understanding of Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel is encouraged for analyzing the data. Please refer to the Chart of Accounts and Definitions document, found in the Local Government Help File, for assistance with understanding the data.

How a charity can join SECA: A bona fide charity may contact the Office of Comptroller to request an application to begin the process as a stand-alone charity in the SECA program.
