Comptroller Susana Mendoza celebrates 12th credit rating upgrade

Another week…another credit rating upgrade for the State of Illinois. S&P Global ratings granted the state its 12th credit upgrade on Comptroller Susana A. Mendoza’s watch and the highest from S&P in more than a decade.

“We’re now up to 12 credit rating upgrades, a continued mark of confidence in Illinois’ ability to manage finances responsibly, build up our Rainy Day Fund and navigate economic challenges,” said Comptroller Mendoza. “I’m incredibly proud of the work that we’ve done to bring stability and predictability to the state’s finances and earn recognition for the progress we have made.”
