The Office of the Comptroller seeks currently enrolled undergraduate students to intern during the school year and/or summer months. Interns have the opportunity to work with the following departments: policy, external affairs, or communications. Work assignments include researching policies and creating policy memos; drafting press releases and general correspondence, crafting social media posts; and/or attending local community events. The Office offers interns the opportunity to explore a career in public service while gaining valuable hands-on experience to supplement their studies in the classroom. Interns will work with experienced professionals to gain valuable skills for graduate school or their future careers.
The Comptroller's Office seeks students with a passion for public service and government who have demonstrated an interest in public policy and current events. Desired qualifications include: excellent analytical and writing skills, time management skills, a strong work ethic, and good interpersonal skills.
Terms and dates of internships are flexible to accommodate course requirements and quarter and semester students. Interns will work at least 15 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during the summer. The positions are located in Chicago and Springfield, IL.
