Adoptable Critters

Sydney

Sydney

Sydney, aka Syd, is an energetic, playful, curious, and smart little 1 year old boy. He especially loves wand toys with strings and dangly things and has just as much fun chasing a ball down the hallway. Syd has a strong hunting instinct and enjoys sneaking up and pouncing on his foster siblings, which always leads to a fun chasing game. You know the saying, “Monkey see, monkey do...” Sydney always wants to be doing what his foster siblings are doing. If they are sleeping, he is sleeping. If they are eating, he wants to be eating and he will tell you all about it! Syd is a vocal kitty that will let you know when he wants to be fed or wants to play. Sydney may be a smooth talker, but he’s not a fan of public displays of affection and would appreciate if you leave him with all fours on the floor. He’ll accept a pat on the back, but please don’t get too close to his head or ears until you’ve really gotten to know each other. Syd would prefer a mature crowd that understands his personal preferences and would make a great addition to a loving home with another cat present to show him the ropes and feel more comfortable when you are not around. Are you Sydney’s forever family? You might be if you are looking to add another cat to you household, have plenty of room for romping around, and don’t have small children in the house. Please check out the PAWS Chicago website at pawschicago.org for the current adoption process, requirements, and fees.

Louis

Louis

Louis, an adorable 2-year-old, brings ALL the energy to playtime at any time of the day. He loves playing with toys that he can chase, bat around, and wrestle with - he would do best in a home that has time to play with him and is able to provide daily enrichment activities. Louis is an adventurer that loves to explore wherever he is. He is very social and likes to engage with his humans, but he prefers an older crowd rather than socializing with children. Because Louis is extremely playful, he is still getting up to speed on how to interact with other cats and would do best in a home as the only cat until he figures out his cat socialization skills. He does have a medical condition that the adopter would need to manage. Louis is ready to find his fur-ever home! Please check out the PAWS Chicago website at pawschicago.org for the current adoption process, requirements, and fees.

Willis

Willis

Meet Willis! Willis, or "Will" as his foster mom calls him, is shy and will need his humans to understand he needs time to get comfortable as he finds new situations and people scary at first. Once Will is comfortable with people and environments, he is truly a sweetheart and loves lots of head and neck pets! Will likes to lay next to you while you work, read, or watch T.V. He enjoys play time and likes to chase mice toys and bat balls around. Will can get chatty at times and loves looking out the windowsill at birds and squirrels. His foster mom says Will always comes up to her, sits down, and kneads his front paws, which makes him look as if he's tap dancing (or as his foster mom calls them his "tippy tappies"), because he's so happy to see her. If you have a quiet, adults only home and experience working with shy cats, Willis would love to meet you! Willis is currently spending time in a foster home. Please check out the PAWS Chicago website at pawschicago.org for the current adoption process, requirements, and fees.

Darcy

Darcy

The name “Darcy” is fitting for this soft-spoken, beautiful brown 4-year-old Lab mix because of the Irish, Gaelic meaning “dark one.” Her brown coat is perfect for soaking up the sun as she loves to bask in the rays while lounging on the porch. She likes to spend her time sniffing and trotting around looking for her next place to nap. When we say Darcy is soft spoken, we mean she barely speaks. We’re not even sure what her bark sounds like. She can be timid around new people, places, and things, and needs time to warm up before she can get comfortable. Once she’s settled in, she’ll be back to her happy go lucky self again in no time! Are you an experienced dog person that lives in a calm neighborhood and happen to be looking for dog with an equally chill vibe? Then Darcy would love to meet you! Please check out the PAWS Chicago website at pawschicago.org for the current adoption process, requirements, and fees.

Schatzi

Schatzi

Right now, Schatzi’s 76 pounds of happy smiles and perky triangle ears. Sure, this lovely 7-year-old Boxer mix should be 56 pounds, but we’re working on it. When her person recently passed away, we welcomed Schatzi back to PAWS Chicago to heal as she gets ready for a new family. Once a PAWS pup, always a PAWS pup – and for Schatzi especially, we’ll always have love to spare.

Just like the weight, love and playtime come easily to her. “Schatzi” means sweetheart in German and this little (er... big) lovebug and has the purest heart despite what she’s been through. She craves cuddles from grown-ups and will always roll over for a belly scratch. Fetch? Loves it! Her former foster family described her as a “sweet and affectionate girl who loves playing with Kongs, enjoys going for car rides, and is always up for a good quality power nap.” She’s larger than life (no pun intended) and will fit right in with a kid- and pet-free family where she can be the star of the show. Can you help Schatzi swap a few naps for walks? She’ll be sure to return the favor with all the love she can muster which, spoiler alert, is a ton. Help us find this sweet girl her home. Please check out the PAWS Chicago website at pawschicago.org for the current virtual adoption process.

Tolouse

Tolouse

Tolouse is a four year old brindle beauty and a spitfire! Her foster family reports that she love to plays, especially tug-of-war. She will come over and gingerly lay her rope toy in your lap. Once you start playing, she will wag her tail while tugging ferociously. Then the moment you stop tugging, she will come lay the toy in your lap again to signal she want to play again! When she done with play, she enjoys a bone and a have a rest in your lap. She is also clicker and treat trained, house trained, and crate trained. As you can tell, she has been to school and studied hard! She just needs someone that will be patient with her while she adjusts to a new home.

Finch

Finch

Finch, is 3 1/2 year old Blue Heeler Mix. Are you looking for someone that will always be by your side? So is Finch! Finch loves to play with people, walk, run, or just cuddle on the couch. He is very well trained in basic commands and is already house trained. Are you Finch’s forever home? You might be if you have no children, dogs, or cats and spend most of your time at home! Elevators are loud and a little frightening so he doesn’t want to use one to get into his home. Please check out the PAWS Chicago website at pawschicago.org for the current virtual adoption process.

Colby

Colby

Need some southern soul in your life? Meet Colby! This gorgeous Labrador Retriever/mix originally came to PAWS Chicago from Tennessee. Colby is an energetic dog that loves exercising and being outdoors. He is smart and focused so he loves learning and mastering a new set of training skills. Colby would prefer a home with family members who are all over the age of 15 and who have experience with energetic dogs. He prefers to be the only animal in the house. If you are interested in meeting Colby. Please check out the PAWS Chicago website at pawschicago.org for the current virtual adoption process.
