Adoptable Critters

Ripley

Ripley

Ripley is a very gorgeous three year old Shepherd mix. We don't know Ripley's past, but sadly she fearful of new people and new situations. She is however coming around nicely with her care takers at the shelter. Ripley warms up to woman quicker then men, but with time and patience will be your BFF!

Daisy

Daisy

Daisy is a sweet two month old Australian Cattle Dog. Her and her two siblings are in the market for forever homes. The litter are typical fun loving puppies who play, and sleep hard. Please visit our website: www.andersonanimalshelter.org to see what current puppies we have available for adoption.

Heather

Heather

Heather is a beautiful tortoiseshell kitty who wants to find the perfect home where she can feel comfy and loved! This 2-year-old girl may seem a little timid when you first meet her, though she really appreciates your one-on-one attention and affection! Gently talk with her (and tell her how pretty she is!), and Heather will purr and roll over when you rub her head and neck. It feels awesome! She may also wander out of her kitty condo to explore and show you how much she likes to be petted! (Plus, you can see her unique markings even better!) Heather gets a little nervous around other cats and commotion at the shelter, so she may return to the safety of her condo. Heather was adopted and returned to us after about three months because she wasn’t getting along well with the dogs and other cat in her former home. According to the former owner, when she saw the dogs, she would run away to the safety of her crate, and she was nervous when other pets approached her. We think Heather would thrive and might be happiest in a home where she was the only cat, allowing her to feel comfortable and more confident ... and be your companion. Can you be the perfect home for Heather? She hopes so!

Harper

Harper

Harper is a 3-year-old grey and white girl, who is as gentle as they come! She really appreciates your kindness and affection, even if she seems a bit bashful at first. However, Harper isn’t shy about showing you how much she loves head rubs and even kisses on her nose, if you’d like! Plus, she has the prettiest green eyes and markings that make her a gorgeous kitty, inside and out. Sadly, Harper was abandoned at Anderson’s doorstep – left in a cat carrier along with a 6-month-old kitten (since adopted). We don’t know why, and we don’t know much about her background. Under our care, Harper was diagnosed as diabetic. However, she is now exclusively eating Friskies Turkey and Giblets, and she is a now a non-insulin dependent diabetic, meaning she doesn’t need insulin treatments. Her diabetes is currently being managed with her diet only, as well as periodic blood glucose monitoring. We know she deserves a wonderful home – and will make a loving, friendly companion. Can you be the forever home for Harper? She'd love to meet you!

Twinkie

Twinkie

Twinkie: Meet Twinkie – a very handsome 5-year-old gentleman. His dilute grey-and-cream-like tabby colors are so unique! What does Twinkie want you to know about him? He thinks gentle head rubs and affection are the sweetest thing. He doesn’t demand much, except for your companionship. Twinkie is front-paw declawed and was relinquished to us because his former owner could no longer care for him. His former owner says Twinkie hasn’t been exposed to children or dogs, and when he has been around other cats, he has generally ignored them. When new people came to his former home, he was shy at first but once he knows you, he will be your very best friend!  Twinkie needed his ears cleaned when he came to Anderson, so that’s why his ears seems a little greasy from the medicine. He’s ready to find his forever-and-ever home!

Katniss Everdeen

Katniss Everdeen

Katniss Everdeen loves to play! This 1-year-old tabby is an active girl with a sense of feline confidence and independence. She would do well in a home where she can have regular playtime (hint, hint: string feather toys and balls are awesome!), as well as space and time to chill on her own. Katniss Everdeen may not demand cuddles or enjoy being held, though she would still like to hang out with you and be where the action is!
